Minimal data, clear consent.
CrowdCircle helps people discover gatherings, buy tickets, join event chats, and receive nearby event alerts. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the controls users have.
Last updated: 18 May 2026
1. Who we are
CrowdCircle is an event discovery, ticketing, merchandise, and sponsor marketplace operated from Australia. You can contact us through the CrowdCircle contact form.
2. Information we collect
We aim to collect the smallest practical amount of personal information needed to run the service:
- Account information such as email address, display name, password authentication status, and optional mobile number.
- Location preferences such as city, country, postcode or area code, radius, and optional coarse map selection for nearby alerts.
- Event activity such as saved events, RSVPs, ticket reservations, orders, check-in status, host submissions, and reports.
- Community content such as event chat messages, replies, reviews, and moderation reports.
- Commercial activity such as ticket, merchandise, promotion, and sponsor placement metadata.
- Technical information such as device/browser data, log data, approximate network location, and security events.
3. Information we avoid collecting
We do not need birth dates, identity documents, government identifiers, precise movement history, or continuous background location tracking for the current launch product. If a future feature requires more sensitive data, we will explain that clearly before collecting it.
4. How we use information
- To create accounts, verify email addresses, and keep accounts secure.
- To show events, circles, tickets, chats, merchandise, and sponsors relevant to a selected area or category.
- To process ticketing, checkout, refunds, receipts, and organizer operations.
- To send opted-in nearby alerts, ticket reminders, creator updates, and sponsor offers.
- To moderate unsafe, misleading, illegal, spammy, or abusive activity.
- To improve reliability, debug issues, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
5. Location and notifications
Nearby event alerts use saved location preferences rather than continuous tracking. Users can edit location, radius, theme, email alerts, ticket reminders, creator updates, and sponsor offer consent from account preferences. Sponsor and merchandise offers sent by email are opt-in.
6. Payments and providers
Payment details are handled by Stripe or other payment providers. CrowdCircle should not store full card numbers. We store the payment, order, ticket, and webhook references needed to reconcile checkout and support requests. We also use infrastructure providers for hosting, authentication, database, storage, maps, email, push, analytics, and error monitoring as the product matures.
7. Sharing information
We share personal information only where needed to operate CrowdCircle:
- With organizers when needed to manage an event, ticket, check-in, refund, or attendee support request.
- With service providers that host, secure, authenticate, process, deliver, or monitor the service.
- With sponsors only through relevant placements or where a user has opted in to direct sponsor offers.
- With authorities, regulators, or other parties if required by law or to protect users and the service.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage for practical app behaviour such as theme, local session state, preferences, and cached discovery settings. We may add privacy-conscious analytics later to understand product health and usage.
9. Data retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed for accounts, events, orders, safety, tax, dispute, and legal purposes. We use row-level database security, server-side secrets, HTTPS, and limited access controls. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so we design the product to avoid storing unnecessary high-risk data.
If a user deletes their account, CrowdCircle deletes the account profile and keeps a server-keyed hash of the normalized email address, plus the email domain and deletion metadata. We do not keep the raw deleted-account email in this ledger. The reference is used to prevent repeated abuse of free trials or introductory subscription offers by deleted and re-created accounts.
10. Your choices and rights
Users can request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information by contacting us. Users can also opt out of non-essential emails and sponsor offers. Some records, such as completed orders, tax records, abuse reports, or security logs, may need to be retained where required by law or legitimate safety needs.
11. Children
CrowdCircle is not directed to children under 16. If an event is intended for minors, the host is responsible for appropriate supervision, consent, and compliance with local rules.
12. International users
CrowdCircle is designed for worldwide discovery. Information may be processed in countries where our providers operate. Where required, we use contractual and technical safeguards for cross-border processing.
13. Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page and, where appropriate, communicated through the app or email.
